Robin Harris-Walker

Robin Harris-Walker is the founder of FAST Forward Communities (FFC), a Christian faith-based nonprofit organization charged with alleviating poverty.  In her role she leads the development of programs to train people struggling with low income for career success and personal achievement.  Beating the odds of growing up in a poverty-stricken community, Robin embraced her faith, education, exposure to various careers and professional mentorship to succeed. 

In 2019 she founded FFC to provide people who want to achieve career, family, wellness, and housing stability an opportunity to beat poverty with dignity. Robin has enjoyed a successful 20-year career as a cybersecurity practitioner and supply chain risk management strategist. Garnering a unique combination of experience as a ministry leader, parent, certified mental health advocate, high school teacher, CEO and international business leader she is a trusted advisor. Her expertise helps companies build better cybersecurity and leverage it as a growth strategy.  Robin has a comprehensive aptitude for developing outcome-based programs, training curricula and audit ready program metrics.

Robin is a native Washingtonian, an avid hiker and community leader mentoring women and young adults in cybersecurity and leadership. She is a contributing editor on cybersecurity issues to media outlets nationwide including a recent cybercrime protection segment on Fox5 News. Robin is author of the No. 1 bestselling book PURPOSE: A Gift for Mommy’s New Grown-up.  She is also on a mission to help mothers lead their young adults into purpose and financial security. 

Dawn O. Holland

Dawn O. Holland serves the executive board at FAST Forward Communities (FFC) as treasurer.  Dawn provides project leadership and provides financial guidance for FFC programs.  She is an accomplished Consulting Manager working with various U.S. government and commercial customers providing project control, guidance, support, and direction in the areas of business operations, project management, financial management/analysis, accounting, pricing, earned value management systems (EVMS), contracts interpretation/management, procurement, auditing, and human resources for over 30 years. 

She is a certified Program Manager Professional (PMP) and works for Deloitte Consulting as a Delivery Project Manager supporting the U.S. Department of State.  Dawn also serves on the board of Pushing Up My Precious Sister (P-U-M-P-S) organization as an Executive Project Manager. 

She enjoys applying her creativity, professional knowledge and skills to ensure activities, initiatives, and program participant’s visions are accomplished.  Dawn is devoted mother of two and proud grandmother to Zion. Dawn obtained her International Management Masters degree specializing in Finance, as well as her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, from the University of Maryland University College. She is a strong advocate for education for everyone at any age. 

While previously working for Guidehouse Consulting, she served as a volunteer coordinator coaching employees to become teachers for the company’s Science, Technology, Mathematics, and Engineering (STEM) code.org initiatives and was a PMP instructor to exam candidates.

Marlin Mims

Marlin Mims serves the executive board of FAST Forward Communities as Secretary. He is a highly organized, energetic and results-oriented leader renowned for exceptional interpersonal skills and rapport-building amongst team members and the community.

Marlin provides guidance to FFC youth activities and boys mentorship leaders as they develop impactful workshops and events.  As a licensed life and health insurance agent as well as a real estate tenant liaison professional, Marlin demonstrates a heartfelt commitment to improving the financial well-being of individuals, especially those in low-income communities.  Marlin has delivered process-oriented support for several law firms as a collateral document specialist alongside loan officers, attorneys and firm management managing their high volume of collateral legal documents including notes, deeds, loan modifications and title policies to ensure company compliance.

Marlin’s career is marked by a unique blend of expertise in the insurance industry, legal arena, and residential tenant management; all of which play vital roles in supporting individuals and families seeking to beat poverty. Marlin is to his wife Nicole and father of 6 amazing children. Marlin enjoys cooking and teaching others to prepare fine restaurant quality meals on a shoestring budget at home. Marlin’s experience is not just a reflection of his professional excellence but also a testament to his commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of individuals and families.
